Live photo

  • No pre-existing photograph is uploaded: the application captures a live photo with your computer's webcam or your phone's front camera
  • Use a pure plain white background; plain, preferably dark, clothes keep contrast with it
  • Keep the camera at eye level, sit or stand directly in front of it and look straight ahead with a neutral expression
  • Your head should take up at least 50% of the photo; elbows and anything below the chest must not be visible
  • No cap, mask or glasses/spectacles; hair or cloth must not cover the face
  • Eyes fully open; you can preview and retake the photo until the application is submitted

Signature

  • Sign with a black ink pen on white paper
  • Running handwriting (cursive, joined letters), NOT block, capital or disjointed letters
  • Scan the signed paper at a minimum of 100 DPI
  • Rejected: non-white background, non-black ink, an unclear or partly visible signature, or a thumb impression instead of a signature
  • Must match the signature you give at the exams, document verification, medical examination and appointment

  • SC/ST candidates asking for a free train travel pass also upload their SC/ST certificate as a PDF smaller than 400 KB.

Make the RRB signature

  1. Sign once in joined-up handwriting with a black pen on clean white paper; scan it or photograph it from above.
  2. Choose your CEN above, add the image and crop around the ink with a small margin.
  3. Create the file. If it's under 30 KB, accept the offer to enlarge it, then download the 30–49 KB JPG.

Before the live photo

Stand against a pure white wall in plain, darker clothes. Your head should fill at least half the frame, eyes fully open, with no cap, mask or spectacles. You can retake until you submit.

Station Master and other RRB recruitments

Station Master (CEN 08/2026) is open until 25 November 2026. Group D, ALP, JE and other notices set their own rules: choose Other in the tool and enter the numbers from your CEN. Central Railway Act Apprentices have a separate railway apprentice photo page.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RRB NTPC and Station Master 2026 photo size?

There's no photo file: CEN 06/2026, 07/2026 and 08/2026 capture a live photo with your webcam or phone camera in the form.

What is the RRB NTPC and Station Master signature size?

A JPG/JPEG of 30–49 KB, at least 140 × 60 pixels, scanned at 100 DPI or more, in black ink in running handwriting. The form's box is 35 mm wide for NTPC and 50 mm for Station Master.

Why does a 140 × 60 pixel signature get rejected as too small?

Because at that size a JPG is only a few KB, below the 30 KB minimum. 140 × 60 is the smallest allowed size, not a target; the tool enlarges it until it reaches 30 KB.

Can I sign in capital letters for RRB?

No. Block, capital or disjointed letters, non-black ink and a thumb impression instead of a signature are all rejected.

What else do SC/ST candidates upload?
